Run

My first love is Cross Country, which made me switch from competitive soccer to running long distances at the age of 16 during an exchange year in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Although it didn’t involve a lot of mud back then, as it was in a desert climate, my passion for this discipline has stayed.

I have also tried basically anything from the steeplechase, over mountain running and to the half marathon and even triathlon. Step by step, with the help of amazing teammates and great coaches, I have run my way to first qualifying for a German national championship (in my first 3k steeplechase in 2016). Then, my studies took me to the US where I was able to run for a to a collegiate team at Grand Valley State University and helped earn two national team titles (Division II) both in Cross Country and on the track in 2018/19. Finally, after a moving through a difficult time in 2020 and ’21 and also moving places again, this time to Zurich in Switzerland, two of my childhood dreams came true this fall…

I won my first medal of a German national championship in mountain running and then even a second one over the half-marathon distance, finishing third in both races. The icing on the cake was my first nomination to represent the German national team in mountain running at the WMRA Nations Cup in Chiavenna (ITA), where I unexpectedly placed 3rd in an international field as a rookie!

While I have seen a lot of places through running already, I am excited to find out where it takes me in the next years…
